Provided in its strong and robust NANUK® 920 case and characterized by a total weight of only 4 kg, this powerful device is able to handle up to 256 RT3 Field Controller and 4096 SQ3 Firing modules. It can operate either via wireless (with AT3 antenna module) or via cable but also using both simultaneously. Communication always works bi-directionally. F3 Remote Controller is supplied with 2 firmwares which have already been installed on the machine and can be used according to the professional’s needs:

  • 1.0 Version : directly control up to 64x SQ3 (2048 cues)
  • SuperMaster Version: control up to 256x RT3 e 4096x SQ3 (131.072 cues)

The SuperMaster version is optimized for the management of displays on a medium and large scale. Its main features are the speed and the parallel structure of communication, two essential characteristics which allows you to carry out rapid tests and manual or automatic performances without a time limit.

F3 can be programmed through a software. The supported softwares are:


In order to carry out regular updates bugs, new firmware), the F3 is provided with an integrated Updater. The update of the F3's firmware is exclusively carried out via flash drive.

F3 can be controlled through a Color Touch Screen Display, combined with a very user-friendly and extremely straightforward Menu. From the main Menu you can easily enter the 4 sub-menus through which you can access all the following functions:

SETUP: energy status of the internal battery, internal clock’s settings, Time Code’s settings, Wireless parameters’ settings;

DIAGNOSTICS: monitoring of the communication with other connected devices (BUILDER function), energy status of the devices, ID remote assignment, unique ID assignment, detailed check of the individual lines (resistance detection and reading), detailed scan of radio link, quality of the radio channel, quality of the radio frequency, degree of assurance and “send packets” function, hardware warnings and errors;

PROGRAM: storage of programming files, internal memory access and external USB memory access, program checks and program’s transfer to the connected devices;

ENERGY/FIRE: energy management system, ENERGY/ARM function, functions linked to running and monitoring the display, advanced features. The ENERGY/FIRE menu is undoubtedly the most interesting one as it allows multiple interactions during the display*.

For instance, it may be possible to:

  • Run the display in a manual (MAN), automatic (AUTO) and/or synchronized (SYNC) way.
  • Run in MAN the single programmed ignitions during a display in AUTO or SYNC.
  • Run in MAN the single NON-programmed ignitions during a display in AUTO or SYNC (FIRER function).
  • Run in MAN the programmed sequences during a display in AUTO or SYNC, even overlapping with other sequences in progress (OVERLAP).
  • Enable/disable pre-programmed filters and groups.
  • Enable/disable individual RT3.
  • Real-time control of proportional
  • extension/reduction of the total execution time (STRETCHING function).
  • Real-time change of the Offset (OFF SET function).

Each menu can be selected using both the Touch Screen and pressing the relevant function key: this redundancy is offered to protect works in the event of foreseeable component’s failures while using the device. Moreover, the historical menu at the top constantly records and historicizes any action, in order to provide immediate feedback of the activities undertaken.

For what concerns diagnostics, F3 possesses a function named “Builder”. Builder performs a scan aimed at detecting the connected hardware and takes a “snapshot”, which is stored in the internal memory of the remote controller. The situation described in the “snapshot” is subsequently compared with the display's programming (previously transferred), resulting in a detailed report which must therefore be examined. At this stage, reaction times are impressively fast: in less than two minutes you can get full details of the hardware and circuits of even 10,000 cues!
Once the Builder has been successfully executed, thanks to a quick and intuitive user interface, you will be able to view the achieved results. Screens such as Field Summary, Tree View, SQ3 List, RT3 List, provide the user a comprehensive overview about hardware’s conditions. In the event of discrepancies with respect to the transferred display, these differences will be visually shown.

SQ3 Info allows you to view the details of a single SQ3: unique ID, assigned ID, energy status and detailed igniters’ connections. Since the Builder is stored, it can be used after in order to perform a different test within a few seconds, whose results will be later taken into account for further comparisons. Should inconsistencies appear afterwards, these will be promptly highlighted.

To meet the wishes of many scrupulous users and to reduce further the Builder’s error rate, PyroLEDA system has also developed a “backwards” diagnostics (SQ3 > RT3 > F3). Always working under intrinsic safety conditions, the test is initially run via TP3 Handheld Tester (Tester programmer) and starting from SQ3; secondly there is the RT3’s check and ultimately the Builder will be activated from F3.

PyroLEDA® F3 provides a backup system without modification to field layout. The usage of FSK as linker between RT3 and SQ3 is made possible by the fact that each SQ3 is able to decode the TimeCode. Other highlights of SQ3 are represented by energetic autonomy and by the ability to memorize the display’s section which is under its responsibility. Thanks to those three features listed above -energetic autonomy, memorization and synchronization- the SQ3 Firing modules are completely independent. Given these circumstances and in order to start running the display even without F3 support (as in case of emergency), it is sufficient to issue the proper commands directly to SQ3 (more specifically, to the communication connectors). This is a unique backup system: it allows to run the display even without the remote controller and without bring forward changes on the field. You can maintain the same hardware configuration and the same programming: to activate all the necessary functions (arming, firing, synchronize, suspending or ending of the display) it will be sufficient to issue the proper commands directly from a RT3 (via cable or wireless), or simply from any other audio source. In such a form, if you are using RT3 as backup system, you should remind that this also fulfills an equalizer function to get a FSK (provided with the right volume) to the Field modules.
